Delta Airlines President Fredrick Reid and his management team hired Aarthun Performance Group, Ltd. in 2001 to create a customized version of The Profit Specialist® program with the goal of improving the overall performance of the airline. Tens of thousands of Delta employees participated in the roll out of “Our Airline, Our Business.”
“You’ve got to take the maximum amount of information to the employee… It’s about respect, it’s about showing them you trust them with sensitive information,” Reid said. “This is congruent with the philosophy of Delta Airlines founder, C.E. Woolman, who believed that, people matter and should be treated fairly and equitably.”
The Our Airline, Our Business initiative won an Excellence in Management Practices award from the Society of Human Resources Management.
